MEET CHALMERS AERO TEAM

Aeroteam chalmers

WHO ARE WE

We are a small multidisciplinary team of engineering students at Chalmers University in Sweden, with an interest in aeronautics.

COMPETITIONS

The team aims to participate in flying competitions, where we design, manufacture and test our own aircraft and compete with other universities.

PASSION

Apart from participating in competitions, we are currently working on building a national network of students with a passion for aerospace engineering, to increase the general interest in aeronautics among young people.

DID YOU KNOW?

✈️ Wright Brothers’ First Flight: The first powered, controlled flight was made by the Wright brothers on December 17, 1903. The flight lasted only 12 seconds and covered 120 feet.

Altitude Records: The highest altitude achieved by a non-rocket-powered aircraft is over 123,000 feet (37 km), set by the StratEx project using a balloon-launched suit.

✈️ Wing Design is Everything: Modern aircraft wings are designed using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to optimize airflow and minimize drag.

NASA’s Aeronautics Role: Before focusing on space, NASA (originally NACA) was entirely dedicated to advancing flight and aeronautical research.
